1. Identify the type of organisation you would like to work for that matches your interests, values and motivators. Need help? Ask mums@work about our ‘Job Matching Tool’ as part of our Job KickStart Package.
2. Make a list these organisations and short-list the top 3, 5 or 10 you would like to work for.
3. Contact your preferred organisations to find out what current job vacancies exist.
4. Send your resume to the appropriate contact person (usually this will be the HR department).
5. Follow up your application within a week to ensure it was received. Keep in regular contact to check if there are any openings (monthly).
